This illustration was inspired by figures I encounter in lucid dreams, ever since early childhood. They behave autonomously – as if they had their own will and identity, independent from mine. They often have unnaturally elongated body proportions and smile too widely – in a way that is physically impossible, yet undeniably real in that world.
They love playing with their form, often morphing it right before my eyes – as if the body was just a costume to them. Sometimes I join in this game of morphing, although I’m never as good at it as they are. It was thanks to them that my fascination with deformation was born – it’s because of those encounters that I began drawing figures whose bodies escape all known rules.
And how are your dreams lately?
